Nobility crown AcquavivaAlte und sehr edle Familie, gezählt zu den sieben großen Häusern des Königreichs Neapel, das, wie Mugnos auch feststellt, von den Herzögen Bayerns abstammt. Tatsächlich kam die Linie im 10. Jahrhundert mit einem Rinaldo nach Italien und kaufte zahlreiche Ländereien in der Marca d'Ancona. Mit den schwäbischen Königen zog die Familie in das Königreich Neapel und erhielt einen riesigen Staat in den Abruzzen, wo das Land Acquaviva eingeschlossen war, von dem es seinen Namen erhielt. Antonio Acquaviva hatte 1382 die Grafschaften S. Flaviano und Montorio von Carlo III. Von Durazzo und 1393 das Herzogtum Atri von König Ladislao. Die Linie wurde ab 1507 dem neapolitanischen Patrizier in Seggio di Nido zusammengefasst und dem alten Buch zugeschrieben Gold der neapolitanischen Patrizierfamilien.
