Der Familienname Braccesi wurde 1771 durch ein Testament von Francesco Aurelio Braccesi, dem letzten dieser Familie, hinzugefügt. Giovanni da Cascina, Vater des besagten Adorno, war 1385 Bürgermeister der Insel Giglio und hatte 1392 und 1402 die Position des Ältesten in Pisa inne Diese Familie wird vom Marquis Vittorio Spreti in seiner 1936 in Mailand gedruckten italienischen Historisch-Edlen Enzyklopädie erwähnt. Durch das Sammeln von Manuskripten heraldischen und edel-genealogischen Inhalts in Bibliotheken sowie in vielen öffentlichen und privaten Archiven. Die für die Entstehung des betreffenden Werkes gesammelten Zeugnisse und Unterlagen wurden von der Familie selbst übermittelt.
