Annovera tra i componenti della famiglia numerosi cavalieri: Ferlino e Francesco nel 1358, Pietro e Bonifacio nel 1402, Andrea e Gio: Vito nel 1411, Gasparo nel 1435, Emanuele nel 1489, Giacomo nel 1519, Gio Luigi nel 1516, Carlo 1554, Bernardino 1568, erano Cavalieri di San Giovanni*. Federico anch'esso vestì l'abito di Malta nel 1370. * Noto anche come "Sovrano ordine di San Giovanni di Gerusalemme", ordine cavalleresco cattolico istituito nel sec. XI a Gerusalemme; assunse in seguito carattere militare, combattendo insieme ai crociati. Nel 1191 i membri dell'Ordine si stabilirono a San Giovanni d'Acri e, successivamente, a Cipro e a Rodi, dove rimasero fino al 1522, quando l'isola fu conquistata dai Turchi.
