Nobility crown AiutoAntica e nobile famiglia, originaria di Trapani, la cui arme si vede, oggi, scolpita nella Capella di San Francesco d'Assisi, in detta Città, fabbricata nel 1272, nel qual tempo fiorì Nicolò Aiuto, "Provisore" del Regio Palazzo del re Federico terzo, figlio di Vincenzo, il quale ebbe, da re Federico II, concessione del titolo di regio cavaliere. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di molti genealogisti, dovrebbe rinvenirsi nel nome medioevale beneaugurale "Aiutus", di cui si può leggere un esempio, in uno scritto dei padri agostiniani, del XIII secolo: "...In Dei nomine Amen. Ex hoc publico Instrumento sit omnibus manifestum, quod frater Simon Prior Eremitarum Sancti Antonii de Ardinguesca, et frater Aiutus Prior Collae, Praesbyteri Rustici, Lucensis alias Livontij Dioecesis..".
