Nobility crown AlmonteLinaje muy antiguo de nobles hijosdalgo y ricos-hombres. Se cree que procede de la villa de Almonte, perteneciente hoy al partido judicial de Moguer, provincia de Huelva, y que tuvo su origen en unos caballeros ricos-hombres de Castilla, que acompañaban al Rey Don Alfonso XI cuando este Monarca se apoderó de dicha villa por los años de 1327, y que por haber sido en ella heredados fundaron allí casa solar y tomaron su nombre por apellido. Sucesores suyos quedaron establecidos en Almonte. Otros tornaron a Castilla y se extendieron por Galicia y por la Rioja, donde fundaron nuevas casas. Del solar de la villa de A. fué Diego García de A., natural de dicha villa, que casó con doña Ana de las Casas, natural de Sevilla, y fueron padres de Diego de A., que sigue; Juan de A. , caballero de Santiago y Contador mayor de Hacienda. Bernardo A., que tuvo por hijos a Diego A. y Villaza y a Francisco de A. y Laredo, ambos caballeros de Santiago. Otro, cuyo nombre desconocemos, del que fué hijo Diego de A. y Robledo, Alguacil mayor y Familiar del Santo Oficio, de Sevilla, y caballero de Santiago. Beatriz de A., de la que fueron nietos Pablo y José de Figueroa, caballeros de Calatrava; Diego de Córdoba y Figueroa, caballero de Alcántara, y Gutierre Laso de la Vega y Garcilaso de la Vega, caballeros de Santiago; y Fray Pedro de A., Franciscano, y Calificador de Santo Oficio en Sevilla.
