Originally from Calabria, more precisely from Oriolo (CS), this family has distinguished itself in the judiciary since the seventeenth century. On 10 August 1724, she was awarded the title of Duke of Montemurro while on 6 October 1752 she received the marquis title on the surname. In 1795 the family was also aggregated to the Benevento patriciate; already from 1695 it was instead aggregated to that of Lucera. By ministerial decree of 20 July 1913, the family was registered in the official lists with the titles of Marquis (mpr.) And Nobile dei Marquis Andreassi (mf).
