Linaje de antiguos hijosdalgo. Tuvo su primitivo solar en el lugar de Aranguiz (cuyo nombre tomó), del Ayuntamiento de Foronda y partido judicial de Vitoria, en Álava. Una línea se avecindó en la villa de Subijana, del mismo partido, y de ella fué Juan de A., vecino de esa villa, que ganó provisión de hidalguía en Valladolid en 1538. Otras líneas pasaron a Vizcaya y fundaron nuevas casa en la anteiglesia de Jemeín, en la de Guizaburuaga y en la de Murélaga, todas del partido judicial de Marquina. También se extendieron los de este linaje por Castilla. Baltasar de A., vecino de la villa de Hita (Guadalajara), probó su hidalguía en Valladolid en 1542. En la villa de Martín Muñoz de las Posadas, del pratido judicial de Santa María de Nieva, provincia de Segovia, tuvo otra línea casa muy principal, de la que fué Diego de A., natural de Martín Muñoz de las Posadas, que casó con doña Antonia de Arce, de la misma naturaleza, y fueron padres de Diego de A., segundo del nombre, natural de dicho Martín Muñoz, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Francisca de Cotes, de la misma naturaleza (hija de Jerónimo de Cotes, natural de Martín Muñoz, y de doña Úrsula de Ocampo, natural de Santa María de Nieva), naciendo de esa unión Alonso de A. y Cotes, natural de Martín Muñoz de las Posadas, Sargento mayor y caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresó el 13 de Diciembre de 1653. También pasaron los A. a América. De una línea que radicó en Chile fué Francisco de A. Riberos. ...
