Le baron Guillaume Arnaud de Vitrolles, fils puiné du baron Eugène-François-auguste Arnaud de Vitrolles, pair de France et ministre d'Etat et de demoiselle N. de Pina, hérita de la terre de Chirols de sa tante, Mme de Bozas. M. de Vitrolles mourut à Tournon, le 18 mai 1896, au moment où il allait être nommé sénateur. Il avait testé en faveur de son petit neveu Guillaume d'arnaud de Vitrolles, fils du comte Théodore de Vitrolles et de demoiselle de Maussion Montgoubert, habitant au château de Vitrolles (Hautes-Alpes). Cette maison donna: des conseillers au parlement de Provence avant 1789, un pair de France et ministre d'Etat. Elle est actuellement représentée, au château de Vitrolles, par le comte Henri-Joseph-Eugène d'Arnaud, lieutenant au 9e hussards.
