Nobility crown AutieriFamiglia originaria della Provenza assai antica e nobile, propagatasi in Sicilia fin dal XIV secolo e, nei secoli successivi, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La cognominizzazione, anteriore al XII secolo, originariamente Authier o Authieri, probabilmente derivata dal nome germanico Autierius, ci giunge Autieri a causa di errori di trascrizione od inflessioni dialettali. Tale casato venne riconosciuto nella sua nobiltà sulla base di prove risalenti al 1674, ufficializzate con regio decreto del 1708. La famiglia si onorò con un governatore di Barcellonette, un capitano di una compagnia di gendarmi e tenente-generale in Provenza, un santo vescovo di Betlemme, il 26 Marzo 1651. Inoltre, la famiglia risulta essersi insediata in Le Puy, sin dal XVII secolo.
