Antichissima famiglia, tra le più ricche e nobili di Pallanza. Il primo personaggio, di essa, di cui abbiamo nota è uno Stefano, morto in Pallanza nel 1678, il quale era ascritto al Collegio dei Causidici di Milano, e che fu console di giustizia ivi stesso. Suo fratello, Giovanni Francesco, sempre nel 1678 venne ascritto al medesimo Collegio, del quale fu, poscia, anche abate. Altro Stefano, fiorì verso la fine del XVI secolo, la cui memoria, purtroppo, sarebbe giunta sino a noi assai più pura, se non fosse stata offuscata dalle gravissime controversie, che ebbe nella sua qualità di Parroco di S. Stefano di Pallanza, Chiesa sussidiaria della parrocchiale di S. Maria di Campagna, col Prevosto della patria collegiata Nicolò Appiani, per diritti di giurisdizione.
