Tra que' nobili che l'Imperatore Arrigo IV condusse in Italia nel 1060, e che poi vi si stabilirono, trovavansi Alberto e Guiscardo B. appartenenti ad una distinta Casa di Baviera. Dicendono da loro le molte famiglie di questo nome che da secoli sono ascritte alla nobiltà di varie Città Venete e Lombarde. Dalla Lombardia appunto una di queste Famiglie passò a stabilirsi nel 1400 a Padova, e dai giurisdizionali possessi che aveva nel castello di Soncino, Provincia Cremonese, vennero i suoi individui chiamati B. da S. Lo stabile domicilio della Famiglia stessa in Padova e la sua ammissione al Consiglio nobile di detta Città furono avvenimenti contemporanei. Anche dopo il Decreto di riforma dell'ex-Veneto Senato del 1635 fu formalmente ritenuta fra le famiglie nobli aggregate a quel Consiglio, e vi continuò sino alla sua cessazione.
