Altra famiglia antichissima in Calabria e trae origine da un certo Raone. I suoi membri, successivamente, si diffusero in tutto il Meridione ed ebbero fortuna sotto gli Angioini: Filippo fu Cavaliere di Carlo I d'Angiò; Guglielmo fu vicerè in Abruzzo, Giovanni Filippo, nel 1338, fu creato capitano generale.
