Haute chevalerie du Vivarais et du Velay, possessionnée en Auvergne, mentionnée à Pradelles depuis Bertrand, père de Hugues qualifié chevalier en 1286 et 1296. Première race éteinte en 1435, avec Hugon mort sans marié deux fois: 1°en 1392 avec Bellote de Saint-Haon; 2° en 1422 avec Ebraïd de Crestes. Hilaire de Jaujac, neveu et héritier d'Hugon, épousa en 1437, Antoinette de Montfaucon filledu premier lit d'Ébraïd de Crestes et fut substitué à la première maison. Son petit-fils Claude de Jaujac contracta mariage en 1514, avec Madeleine de Saint-Nectaire (sœur d'Antoine évêque du Puy). De cette union vinrent: Delphine mariée à Balthazar de Tailhac baron de la Margeride et Claude allié en 1563 à Marie de Langeac, lequel est souvent cité dans l'histoire du Velay pour sa belle conduite au temps des guerres civilés et particulièrement en 1562, pour avoir, avec trois ou quatre gentilshommes, sauvé la ville du Puy des bandes du baron des Adrets. Branche aînée, éteinte en 1662, avec Christophe qui institua son héritier Joachim de Montagu-Bouzols fils de sa soeur Gaspare, à la charge par lui de porter le nom et les armes de cette famille.Branche cadette des seigneurs de Monts près arlanc, fondue dans les de Reynaud de Grippel.
