Nobility crown BearteUn hijo bastardo de M. de Lebret, natural de la Gascuña francesa, llamado Bernal de B., fué el primero que en España usó este apellido. Vino dicho Bernal a Castilla a servir a Don Enrique, cuando éste guerreaba contra su hermano el Rey Don Pedro I el Cruel, y el de Trastamara le armó caballero en Calahorra. Después, cuando vencedor Don Enrique, fué alzado Rey de Castilla, hizo a Bernal de B. Conde de Medinaceli, siendo éste uno de los primeros títulos nobiliarios que se crearon en Castilla, pasando a los hijos de los primeros titulares. Mas tarde fué dicho Condado convertido en el Ducado que hoy existe. Casó el Conde de Medinaceli Bernal de B. con una hija de Inés de la Cerda, de la que nació Gastón de B., segundo Conde de Medinaceli, padres que fué de Bernal de B., segundo del nombre y Conde de Medellín, que contrajo matrimonio con una hija del Marqués Íñigo López de Mendoza, naciendo de esta unión Gastón de B., segundo del nombre, Conde de Medellín, que casó con doña Ana, hija bastarda del Príncipe Don Carlos de Navarra. El Condado de Medellín pertenece también hoy al Duque de Medinaceli. ...
