We have discovered certain details about an individual in the 18th century who had this surname: John S. Bennett, emigrated from Middlesex with his two brothers, Ruben and Joseph, in 1780. He settled in Livingston County, New York, married a woman named Nancy Smith, and was the father of Horace Alderman Bennett. Horace married Sarah Wilson, of Brighton, Michigan. he died in November, 1862.
