Guarine, fille de Jacques, baron de Maubec et de Jeanne de Montalur, dame d'Aubenas, héritière de sa maison, fille de Louis de Montlaur dir le Grand et de Marguerite de Polignac, fut abbesse de Lavilledieu, en 1487. Cette famille, d'après G. de Rivoire de la Bâtie, est aussi ancienne qu'illustre dans la province du Dauphiné, où elle forma 10 branches. Celles des seigneurs de Maubec, quatrième baronnie du Dauphiné. Elle avait en 1230, succédé aux noms et armes de l'ancienne et puissante maison de Maubec, par le mariage d'Aymon avec Béatrix. Humbert, leur fils, prit exclusivement ce nom, auquel ses descendants joignirent celui de Montlaur. Cette branche tomba dans la maison de Modène, après avoir possédé pendant plus de 300 ans la baronnie de Maubec.
