Pierre, notaire royal de La Chaise-Dieu (1564), était en 1576 lieutenant-général de la baronnie de Clavelier. Il laissa de Françoise Paulze: Jean notaire royal allié à Antoinette du Bourg. Dom Jean, religieux bénédictin de La Chaise-Dieu, frère novice en 1603, sculpta pour l'église de cette abbaye le grand christ, modèle d'anatomie, qui surmonte encore le jubé. Ses armes sont peintes dans un cartouche au bas de la croix. Guillaume, docteur ès droits, avocat en la sénéchaussée d'Auvergne (1638),bailli d'Allègre, est cité au nombre des légataire le 6 novembre 1664, dans le testament de Claude-Yves, marquis d'Allègre. Branches en Auvergne et au Puy. Des consuls de cette ville (1579-1607), l'un deux Barthélemy, figure avec ses armoiries, sur le tableau du vœu des consuls (1598). Une autre branche de cette famille, celle des barons de Chirat, seigneurs du Mont, etc., fixée à Montluçon au début du XVIIème siècle et anoblie par la charge de trésorier général de France, s'est éteinte après avoir tenu un rang distingué dans la noblesse du Bourbonnais et reçu le titre de baron de l'Empire.
