Em Portugal um dos mais notáveis membros desta família, que depois foi elevado aos altares como S. Francisco de B., casou com D. Leonor de Castro, filha de D. Álvaro de Castro, senhor do Torrão, e de D. Isabel de Melo, e um filho do Duque santo, D. João de B., Conde de Ficalho, também se recebeu, em segundas núpcias, com uma portuguesa, D. Francisca de Aragão, filha de Nuno Rodrigues Barreto, senhor da Quarteira e aclaide-mor de Faro, e de D. Isabel de Melo, da qual deixou ilustre descendência. Outra família descende, por legítima varonia, de Don José Gil, nat. da cidade de S. Filipe, Valência (Espanha), que c. a 30.6.1629 com Doña Ana-Maria B. Deles foi neto Don Sebastião Gil y B., nat. de S. Filipe, alferes de cavalos, que c. a 26.4.1714 com D. Ana-Josefa de Almeida Quinhones (1683-1767), filha de Gaspar Tojo Gato Falcão (1655-1724), nat. de Portel e seu capitão-mór (5º neto, na varonia, de Baltasar Tojo Gato, fidalgo de cota de armas, 1540 ou 1549, para Gato) e de sua mulher D. Leonor de Almeida Quinhones, irmã de Francisco de Quinhones e Almeida. Daquele casal foram filhos José Gil Tojo Borja e Quinhones, nat. da Vidigueira, desembargador da Casa da Suplicação, superintendente-geral das Alfândegas do Sul, cavaleiro da o. de Cristo, sr. do lugar de Estobem (perto de S. Filipe), etc., e Gaspar Tojo Gato de Quinhones B. (1724-1773). ...
