Antica ed assai nobile famiglia piemontese, originaria della città di Chieri, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia, con insediamenti più cospicui in territorio veneto. Da essa vuolsi infatti che abbia tratto origine la nobile famiglia Orsato di Vicenza, aggregata a quel nobile Consiglio nel 1744 e confermata nella sua avita nobiltà il 9 dicembre 1819.
