Die erste bestimmte Nachricht handelt jedoch von einem Gherardo De B., der 1116 auf einem von Heinrich V. gehaltenen Placito anwesend war. Daraus wurde Gherardo Boschetto geboren, der in den Jahren 1171, 1174 und 1178 Konsul von Modena war. Sohn von Boschetto war ein anderer Gherardo, ebenfalls 1200 Konsul von Modena.
