Apellido oriundo de Castilla. Procede de Atienza en la provincia de Guadalajara, siendo su progenitor García B. de Lagunas, Alcade de Atienza y de Sigüenza a principios de siglo XV, casado con Doña Catalina Núñez de Cienfuegos. El fundador de este noble apelido en Canarias, fue Marcos Gutiérrez B., nieto de Llorente Guitiérrez, que vivió a principios de siglo XVI en la ciudad de Zamora. Nació Marcos en Antequera, a donde se había trasladado su padre Pedro Gutiérrez B. hacia el año 1549. Había casado con María Díaz de Lagos, a quien hizo escritura de arras el 20 de junio de 1572. Marcos recibió las aguas bautismales el 26 de abril de 1573. Se estableció en la ciudad de La Laguna a finales del siglo XVI, y contrajo matrimonio en la misma ciudad el 10 de abril de 1606, con Doña María Perdomo de Hinojosa, hija del Licenciado Luis Perdomo de Hinojosa, Teniente de Gobernador de Gran Canaria, Corregidor de Jerez de la Frontera y Auditor General de las Galeras del Puerto de Santa María, y de su legítima esposa Doña Isabel de Santiago. De dicho matrimonio hubo tres hijos, siendo el primogénito, Don Pedro B. de Laguna, quien segue la línea. Dicho Don Pedro, que nació en La Laguna (Tenerife) y se bautizó en la Parroquia de la Concepción el 14 de noviembre de 1607, pasó a Gran Canaria, donde fue Regidor Perpetuo, recibido en Cabildo el 27 de agosto de 1666. Ocupó otros importantes cargos como Síndico Personero General, capitán de las Milicias y Alcaide del castillo de la Luz en 1668. ...
