Nobility crown BriouBourgeoisie de St-Jeures-de-Bonas. Filiation depuis Etienne Brioude chirurgien en cette ville avant 1760, marié à Marie Pic. Joseph, leur fils ainé, acquit le 2 avril 1768 de Christophe Allouès seigneur de la Fayette, la terre et le château du Besset près Tence. Il épousa Anne Rousset et fut la souche d'une branche restée, à St-Jeures en Velay, qui a contracté de nobles alliances, produit plusieurs chirurgiens et de laquelle descend: Etienne Brioude marié au XIXème siècle à Séville, à la senora de Manuela Pardo y Garcia. Joseph-Jacques, fils cadet d'Etienne et de Marie Pic, docteur en médecine, se fixa à Villevocance près d'Annonay et y fit branche. Il s'allia à Catherine du Bouchet de Gazelles et fut l'aïeul de Martin-Théofrède Brioude marié à sa cousine germaine Jeanne-Marie-Madeleine Brioude, qui lui apporta la terre du Besset. De cette union vint: Marius Brioude mort le 7 août 1899, dont la veuve née Marie Graillat est l'auteur de recherches historiques très documentées sur une partie du Velay, principalement sur la ville et la paroisse de Tence (1901). ...
