Nobility crown BuglioneAntica ed assai nobile famiglia di Bra, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e del Mondo. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di autorevoli genealogisti, andrebbe ricercata in una forma ipocoristica del nome medioevale "Bullius", appartenuto, probabilmente, ad un mitico capostipite. In ogni modo, la chiara nobiltà della famiglia è testimoniata dalla presenza, della sua blasonatura, nella pregevole opera di Antonio Manno, "Il Patriziato Subalpino", volumi I e II, Firenze, 1895-1906. E' estinto il ramo familiare che, nella seconda metà del secolo XVIII, ebbe il marchesato di S. Martino, ma sopravvive il ramo di Monale e Bastia, la cui ultima investitura è del 16 luglio 1790 in capo al conte Giuseppe Gaetano (nato Saluzzo, 14 marzo 1746; morto ivi, 4 maggio 1803).
