Nobility crown ButronLa casa de B. radicó en la anteiglesia de Santa María de Gática, de la merindad de Uribe, en el partido judicial de Durango (Vizcaya). Es una de las más antiguas e ilustres de España. Esteban de Garibay cree que procede de los Señores de Vizcaya, y empieza su filiación en Juan Pérez de B., Señor de esta casa. Otros tratadistas afirman rotundamente esa procedencia. Lope García de Salazar arranca su genealogía de Juan Pérez de Ajánguiz, hijo del segundo Señor de Ajánguiz. Por muchos autores se considera el progenitor de este linaje a Diego López, el Blanco, noveno Señor de Vizcaya, casado con doña María Ordóñez. Una rama de B. radicó en la ciudad de Fuenterrabía. Otra, apellidada Aceña de B., fué fundada por Juan Gómez de B. (hijo segundo de Ochoa de B., tercero del nombre y cuarto Señor de la casa de B), que fué heredado en Meñaca e hizo allí torre, casa y aceña, por lo que se apellidó después Juan de la Aceña de B., así como sus sucesores. Quedó, pues, establecido en Meñaca, siendo cabeza de bando y gozando de las prerrogativas de Pariente Mayor. Sus descendientes inmediatos conservaron el lustre de su solar, del que procedieron directamente las líneas de Aceña de B., establecidas en San Vicente de Oñate, en la villa de Lumbreras (Rioja) y en la provincia de Soria. ...
