No es fácil condensar en pocas líneas la historia brillantísima de la casa de C., ni los servicios eminentes que sus hijos prestaron a su país, alcanzando algunos de ellos altos puestos en la milicia, llegando otros a Príncipes de la Iglesia y a Virreyes, y obteniendo no pocos, como premio a sus méritos, señoríos, Condados, Marquesados, Ducados y hasta Principados. Fabricio de C. y Ursino, natural de Nápoles e hijo de los Condes de Altavila, ingresó en la Orden de Alcántara el 29 de Octubre de 1571. Ferrante de C. natural de Nápoles, florecía en esta ciudad en mediados del siglo XVI, y casó con doña Jerónima de Logredo, siendo padres de Federico de Cápua, natural de Nápoles, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Antonia Carrafa, de la misma naturaleza (hija de Rinaldo Carrafa y de doña Porcia Caracciolo, su mujer, ambos naturales de Nápoles), naciendo de esa unión Ferrante de C. Carrafa, natural de Nápoles y caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresó el 28 de Marzo de 1624. Bartolomé de C., natural de Nápoles, casó con doña Isabel Spinelli, de la misma naturaleza, y fueron padres de Juan Bautista de C., natural de Nápoles, que de su esposa doña Antonia Caracciolo, nacida en la misma ciudad tuvo a Bartolomé de C. y Caracciolo, natural de Nápoles, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Victoria Ana Catáneo, de igual naturaleza, naciendo de esa unión Bartolomé de C. y Catáneo. ...
