En el lugar de Hoz de Anero, del Ayuntamiento de Ribamontán del Monte y partido judicial de Santoña (Santander), radica la casa-torre solar de este apellido, que aun se conserva, hecha de piedra de sillería con dos torreones, uno a cada lado, y ostentando en su fachada tres escudos con las armas de los apellidos C., Salinas, Vega y Acevedo, cuyas familias entroncaron por sucesivos enlaces. También levantaron los C. otro palacio de piedra de sillería y hermosa arquitectura en el barrio de la Raigada, del lugar y valle de Hoz. De la casa-torre solar era Señor en principios del siglo XVII: Juan Alonso de C., natural de Hoz de Anero, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Isabel de Salinas, natural del Lugar de Término, del Ayuntamiento de Entrambasaguas y partido de Santoña, naciendo de esa unión: Juan de C. y Salinas, naturla de Hoz, que casó con doña María Ana de la Vega, de igual naturalez, y procrearon a Fernando de C. y de la Vega, que sigue. Gaspar de C. y de la Vega, natural de Hoz, Mariscal de Campo y caballero de la Orden de Santiago, ingresando en 12 de Febrero de 1750; y Francisco de C. y de la Vega, natural de Hoz, Teniente general de los ejércitos y caballero de Santiago. Contrajo matrimonio con doña Vicenta Antonia Monserrat y Adamez, nacida en Barcelona hallándose allí de paso sus padres, y fué su hijo Juan Manuel de C. y Monserrat, natural de Santiago de Cuba, donde nació siendo su padre Gobernador de dicha plaza, y caballero de la Orden de Santiago. ...
