La famiglia nel 962 con Ulderico discendenti di Armileone Carpineo, ottenne dall'imperatore Ottone la donazione di 24 castelli nel Monfeltro e in Romagna confermati alla famiglia da Ottone II, da Ottone III da Enrico II, da Ottone IV.
