Nobility crown CaufeildApellido de origen irlandés. Sir Toby C. (1565-1627), natural de Oxfordshare (Inglaterra), merced a los servicios que prestara al Rey James I, fue elevado a la dignidad de Barón de Charlemonte (1620), nombre del castillo que se alza sobre el Blackwater, con cuyo título recibió la donación de unas tierras en Irlanda. Charlemonte convirtióse en Condado el año 1763, en su titular James C., nacido en 1728. Carlos C. Pons, natural de Gibraltar (hijo de Richard C., del Condado de Waterfort (Irlanda) y de su esposa Doña Antonia Pons, casados en Gibraltar), pasó a Birmingham, Inglaterra, donde contrajo nupcias con Doña Teresa Sanz, de la misma naturaleza. Este matrimonio se avenció en Santa Cruz de Tenerife el año 1892, con sus cuatro hijos: Edgar C. Sanz, que casó con Doña Armenia Benítez Togores, quien al quedarse viuda contrajo segundas nupcias con Mr. Eric Fox, Cónsul de Gran Bretaña. De su primer enlace, tuvo tres hijos: Doña Irene C. Benítez, que casó con Don Enrique Romero Pérez. Don Carlos C. Benítez, esposo de Dona María Romero, y Don Wilian Caufield Benítez, que celebró nupcias con Doña Adela Cabrera. Wilfred C. Sanz, casado y sin descendencia. Edmund C. Sanz, que de su enlace con Doña Leonor Beautell y Meléndez, celebrado en Santa Cruz de Tenerife el 8 de dicembre de 1910, nacieron: Doña Leonor, Doña Olga y Doña Elena Caulfield Beautell. ...
