La esclarecida y antigua estirpe de los Cavero tuvo su primigenio origen y solar en el noble Reino de Aragón, donde sus descendientes fueron siempre tenidos por hijosdalgo infanzones, gozando de honra y estimación en la república de los hombres nobles. Entre ellos descuella Don Sebastián Cavero, señor de la villa de Usón y poseedor de los dominios de Esguedas, Gavarda, Figueruelas, Saso, Salobrar y Aniés, quien en el año del Señor de 1660 adquirió el Condado de Sobradiel, título que fuera merced real otorgada en 1639 por el invicto monarca Don Felipe IV a Don Alonso Celdrán de Boela. Existen en los Reinos de España diversas casas que llevan el nombre de Cavero, y desde tiempos muy antiguos fue esta familia conocida y tenida en alta estima. No omiten los cronistas advertir con acierto que no todos los linajes que ostentan tal apellido descienden de un tronco común, hallándose su más clara y antigua manifestación en tierras aragonesas.
