Nobility crown ChyurliaAntica famiglia di origine greca, passata in Bari nel 1085; Roberto, detto Roberto di Bari, Signore di Modugno, Gran Protonotario del Regno nel 1273 e quindi, Gran Contestabile di Sicilia firmó la condanna dell'infelice Corradino di Svevia. Un ramo dei Chyurlia si trasferí in Giovanazzo, nel 1540, e possedette la Contea di Roccaforzata, nel 1699; ed il Marchesato di Lizzano per successione della famiglia De Luca nel 1697, con anzianitá del 1671. Fu ricevuta nel S. M. Ordine di Malta nel 1615 come quarto del Cavaliere Capece Zurlo, e col Cavaliere Domenico Antonio Chyurlia di Giovinazzo, il 16 agosto 1703. Nacque quest'ultimo in Giovinazzo il 14 settembre 1701e fu ricevuto di minore etá nell'Ordine; fu commendatore a Balí di Grazia e nel 1767, fu promosso al Baliaggio di S.
