Nobility crown CiantarFamilia muy poderosa en la isla de Malta, donde poseyó grandes estados y un monte, que se denomina Ciantar. Neygo C. fué Jurado en 1455, y Juan C. figura con el título de noble en las escrituras de la ciudad correspondiente al año de 1512. Desde el año de 1711 usaron el título de Condes de C. por concesión del Papa Clemente XI. Fernando I, Rey de las dos Sicilias, le hizo merced en 1777 de la Baronía de San Giovanni. Por entroncamiento usaron también el título de Conde Paleologo, que hoy lleva en Malta la familia Chapelle, descendiente por línea femenina de la de C. De una rama colateral del mencionado Neygo descendió José C., proveedor de armamento de las galeras de San Juan. Hijo suyo fué Juan Antonio C, editor de la obra de Abela "Malta Ilustrada", que casó con doña Teresa, Condesa Paleologo, y sus hijos ostentaron desde entonces el título de Condes de C.-Paleologo. ...
