El primero de esta familia que radicó en las Islas fue el Licenciado Don Cristóbal de la C.. Teniente de Gobernador de Canaria en 1508 y su primera mujer Doña Beatriz de Medina, cuya hija doña Bárbola de la C., casó con Don Baltasar Santisteban, hijo de Cristóbal de Santisteban, Conquistador de la Gran Canaria. De este matrimonio nació el Capitán Francisco de la C., que casó con Doña Leonor Galana, única hija de Comendador Pedro García, padres de Doña Bárbola de la C., que casó el 23 de noviembre de 1568, con Don Pedro Fernández de Ocampo y Guerra, Capitán ordinario del Emperador y Rey de Carlos I y del Rey Don Felipe II, Síndico Personero General de Tenerife en 1604. Fueron sus hijos don Pedro Fernández de Ocampo y C., Don Gonzalo, sucesor; Don Juan, Don Francisco, Don Alonso, Doña Beatriz y Doña Nicolasa.
