In occasione delle nozze tra l’Onorevole Girolamo Coffari, deputato al Parlamento e senatore del Regno, e la nobile Marianna De Angelis, erede dei titoli di barone e di signore di Gilferraro, detti titoli vennero trasmessi alla casata Coffari e, con Regie Lettere Patenti in data 15 giugno 1899, furono solennemente riconosciuti nella persona di Alberto Pietro Coffari e De Angelis, genitore di Girolamo, Marianna, Francesco, Vincenzo, Eduardo, Antonietta, Federico e Giacomo. La genealogia e le memorie araldiche di tale illustre famiglia trovano menzione nell’opera del Marchese Vittorio Spreti, intitolata Enciclopedia Storico-Nobiliare Italiana, pubblicata in Milano nell’anno 1936, frutto di un’accurata raccolta di manoscritti a carattere araldico e genealogico-nobiliare, consultati presso biblioteche ed innumerevoli archivi, tanto pubblici quanto privati. Le testimonianze documentarie e gli atti probatori utilizzati per la redazione dell’opera stessa furono trasmessi direttamente dalla famiglia interessata, come altresì attestato dalla Rivista Araldica, edita dal Collegio Araldico di Roma. ...

Partito: al 1º d'argento, alla torre merlata di tre pezzi, fondata sulla pianura erbosa, sostenuta da due leoncini affrontati, accompagnata da sei cipressi nodriti sulla pianura, tre per parte, il tutto al naturale (Coffari); al 2º d'azzurro, all'angelo di carnagione, fasciato d'argento, coronato d'oro, fermo sul globo terracqueo, cinto alla fascia zodiacale posta in banda, l'angelo in atto di ferire, tenente con la destra abbassata una spada posta in sbarra, il tutto al naturale, l'angelo sormontato da tre stelle di sei raggi d'oro, ordinate in fascia (De Angelis).
