Der Ursprung dieses Familiennamens ist nach unserer Überlieferung im mittelalterlichen Namen „Comunianus“ zu suchen, der wiederum vom griechischen Namen „Chumnos“ abgeleitet ist. Die Familie lebt seit dem 15. Jahrhundert in der Gegend von Salerno, genauer gesagt in Castellabate. Einer ihrer Zweige ließ sich Ende des 18.
