Nobility crown CorlieuSur l'Armorial manuscrit de la fin du XVIIème siècle on trouve le nom de Charles Corlieu, sieur de Fonpaseau, mais sans indication d'armoiries. Celle ici décrites se trouvent dans la brochure de M. de Brémond d'Ars, "La Noblesse de l'Angoumois en 1635". Cette famille appartient au Périgord autant qu'à la province voisine, elle figure sur le catalogue des nobles de la sénéchaussée de Périgueux maintenus par l'intendant Pellot dans leur noblesse d'extraction, lors de la Recherche de 1666-68. En 1536 François Corlieu, sieur de Bernadières et de Grèzignac, figure dans un dénombrement de la noblesse du Périgord fait pour le seigneur d'Autefort, gouverneur de la maison de Navarre, comme aide du seigneur de Bourdeille, et comme devant contribuer à fournir un archer. La même année il figure, lui et Anne Jaubert sa femme, au Ban et Arrière-Ban. A une époque plus récente on voit Joseph Corlieu de Labaudie, fils de Jacques et de Marie de Pindray, né en 1745, épouser Joanne de Salignac de Fènélon morte, le 5 août 1793. François Corlieu, auteur de l'histoire d'Angoulême, raconte que sa famille est originaire du comté d'Yorck en Angleterre et que Charles Valois, comte d'Angoulême, nomma un de ses aïeux lieutenant général de sa justice en Angoumois. ...
