Un ramo dei Curcio si affermò in Polla (Salerno) già al tempo della Signoria della potente casa dei Sanseverino: dal 1467 al 1552 furono "familiari" dei principi di Salerno e subfeudatari di Polla. Ebbero case signorili e palazzo alla Trinità. Questa famiglia diede diversi uomini illustri, per lo più soldati e letterati.
