Famille consulaire du Puy, parfois qualifiée noble et relatée depuis Jehan vivant en cette ville dès 1321, le même qui, savant jurisconsulte, reçoit en 1343 une procuration de l'évêque du Puy à l'effet de traiter avec le chapitre. A la même époque existaient: autre Jehan notaire royal, cité le 18 avril 1332, dans le testament de Catherine de Bouzols vicomtesse de Polignac et noble Vital d'Avignon (1339-1385). Pierre, fils d'autre Pierre, est élu deuxième consul du Puy en 1428. Jehan est chanoine de la collégiale de St-Vosy en 1429. Noble Claude bourgeois du Puy, frère de Catherine, marié à Isabeu d'Arlempde qui en était veuve en 1530, rend hommage en 1470 de biens sis à Solignac. Un capitaine-mage du Puy (1535). Gabriel, écuyer, seigneur du Monteil, assigna le 9 mai 1577 Simon Michel, abbé de Mazan, à l'effet de comparaître devant le Parlement de Toulouse et de s'entendre condamner à reconnaître les droits de justice dudit seigneur du Monteil sur le village de Soleilhac paroisse de St-Front. Il paraît être le père de Hugues seigneur du Monteil (1584) poëte local, docteur et avocat en la sénéchaussée du Puy, auteur de la Vellayade ou Délicieuses merveilles de l'église de Notre-Dame du Puy et païs de Velay (1630). Gaspard, notaire, devint consul en 1601 et 1615. Noble Gabriel est dit seigneur du Monteil en 1675. ...
