Bertolino de' Ploti, detto da Novara, celebre architetto del XIV secolo, fu quegli che dopo aver disegnato il piano del castello ducale di Ferrara quivi stabilì la sua famiglia la quale dette alla nuova patria egregi cittadini. Domenico-Maria, eccellente matematico ed astronomo del XV secolo; Antonio-Maria professore di diritto nell'Università di Ferrara; Gaetano oratore, filosofo e poeta del XVIII secolo.
