Cette famille dispute à la famille Gaetani l'honneur d'avoir donné à ce Giovanni, dit di Gaeta, qui, en 1118, fut proclamé pape, sous le nom de Gelasius II. Elle jouissait de la noblesse à Naples, aux sièges de Porto et de Portanuova, et à Cosenza ; après l'abolition des sièges, il a été inscrit dans le Livre d'Or napolitain.
