Nobility crown DucoliAntica ed illustre famiglia del Nord Italia, originaria della Lombardia ma con importanti nuclei anche in Veneto e Piemonte, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, la famiglia fu proprietaria terriera in Val Camonica. In particolare essa si annovera tra le notabili del circondario di Breno. Vuolsi che il ramo veneto abbia chiesto l'aggregazione a quel patriziato, mediante il consueto esborso di cento mille ducati e la supplica, ma non abbiamo notizie certe riguardo alla sua accettazione. Più accreditata è invece l'ipotesi secondo cui i Ducoli discendono dai conti Duchi di Moncalieri. Questo nobilissimo casato, attestato sin dal 1040 ma estintosi nel ramo primogenito, è infatti stato conosciuto anche come Duc, Ducchi, Duco, De Duce, De Ducibus, Duxii, Ducoli.
