Este Cristóvão Esteves de S., letrado de grande capacidade e bom procedimento, foi do conselho de D. João III, do seu Desembargo do Paço e casado com Isabel Pinto, filha de João Lopes Pinto, de quem teve diversos filhos, que seguiram o seu apelido, tomado da quinta de S., que o Rei lhe deu por solar. Cristóvão Esteves instituiu, com a mulher, morgado das sua terças e das legítimas de dois filhos, Estêvão e Guiomar de E., freira no mosteiro de Cós. Nesta instituição chamaram para primeiro admistrador o filho Estêvão e seus descendentes e, na falta destes, sua filha D. Branca de E., casado com o desembargador Rodrigo Monteiro, seus filhos e descendetes, e, na falta de todas, ao parente mai próximo. Era cabeça deste morgado uma quinta no Vale de Pinta, termo de Santarém, com todas as pertenças, casais, vinha e olivais, matos e casas, o casal foreiro à Ordem do Hospital, a quinta da E. com a herdade do Moutinho, no termo de Mértola, várias casa em Évora, a quinta de Silveira, no termo desta cidade, e outra quinta no tempo de Lisboa, com várias propriedades.
