Nobility crown EspositoAntica ed illustre famiglia, oriunda dalla Catalogna, di chiara ed avita nobiltà, passata, al seguito dei re angioini, a risiedere nel Regno di Napoli, anteriormente al XV secolo, e, successivamente, propagatasi in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di autorevoli genealogisti, andrebbe ricercata nel personale medioevale "Expositus", appartenuto, probabilmente, ad un, oggi ignoto, capostipite. In ogni modo, le prime vestigia, lasciate dal casato, rimontano alla conquista di Ibiza, del 1114; alcuni membri della famiglia Esposito, infatti, sono annoverati tra i cavalieri al servizio di Ramón Berenguer III. Inoltre, tal casato venne, verosimilmente, anche fregiato del cavalierato, in seguito alla partecipazione, sotto i vessilli aragonesi, connotata da coraggio e virtù, di un Carlos E. alla guerra d'Otranto, del 1481, contro gli Ottomani.
