Nobility crown FageNoblesse de la Haute-Auvergne qui compte parmi ses membres les seigneurs de Ribbes, de la Combe, d'Aulhac, de Fournols, de Gizac, de la Veyssenet, de Cheylane, de Talizat, etc. (Auvergne), d'Esplantas, de Beauregard près Saugues (Gévaudan), coseigneurs de Glavenas (1732-1771), barons de Queyrières et des Etats du Velay. Filiation depuis Guiot, commis aux finances de la Haute Auvergne (1366), Confirmée dans sa noblesse (1668), en la personne de Jean de la Fage, seigneur de Ribbes, domicilié en l'élection de Brioude, sur titres filiatifs remontant à Etienne, son trisaïeul (1545). Un gentilhomme de la chambre du roi (1620); des capitaines de cavalerie; un chevalier des ordres de St-Lazare et de N.-D. du Mont-Carmel (1669); deux pages des grandes écuries du roi (1733-1772). Preuves pour l'école militaire en 1781. Charles de Ribbes, seigneur de Saignard, laquelle lui laissa en mourant la baronnie de Quyrières qu'il transmit à son tour vers 1758, à Henriette de Fillère du Charrouil, sa seconde femme. Un membre de cette famille est inscrit sur la liste des émigrés de la Haute-Loire. A ce nom, on attribue un signe distinctif de noblesse représenté par le blason que l'on reproduit ci-dessous et qui confirme aussi à travers ses emblêmes, au point de vue historique et héraldique, l'assurance d'une valeur remarquable.
