Nobility crown FaniAlte und sehr edle toskanische Familie, einst Toscanella, von klarer und überlieferter Tugend, die sich über die Jahrhunderte in verschiedenen Regionen Italiens ausbreitete. Seit 1259 war ein Tobia Generalbürgermeister seiner Heimat. Viele dieser Familienangehörigen kamen aus dem Rat und besetzten die erste Justiz. Sebastiano Fani und sein Sohn Paolo Vittorio gehörten zu den ersten fünfzig Rittern des von Papst Paul III. Gegründeten Militärordens von Giglio. 1559 wurde die Familie dem römischen Adel zugeschrieben und in den Benediktinerbullen von 1746 aufgenommen und erschien später unter den Konservativen. Im Jahr 1540 hatte es Adel von Viterbo und am 19. September 1709 wurde Vincenzo Fani, Ehemann von Maria Paola Monaldeschi Della Cervara, in den gleichen Adel von Viterbo wieder eingesetzt.
