Nous transcrirons les personnages les plus marquants tels que nous les avons rencontrés dans les sources bibliographiques consultées: Hamon, dit Stultus, témoin d'une donation faite à Bonrepos par Alain IV vicomte de Rohan en 1204; Pierre, chevalier, appelé à asseoir une rente au profit du duc sur le hâvage de Lannion en 1283; Alain, mentionné dans des actes de 1293 et 1336; Rolland, écuyer dans une montre de 1378; Guillaume, vivant en 1426 épouse Jeanne de la Houssaye; Morice, prête serment au duc en 1437; un gouverneur de Pontivy en 1775. Un membre de cette famille a été élevé à la dignité de comte en 1817. La branche de la Roche-Guézennec fondue en 1584 dans Kervéno puis Bourbon-Malause. On trouve une autre famille de ce nom fixée en Gévaudan. Elle compte parmi ses membres: les seigneurs de Cubelles près Saugues, de Champagnac, de Baume, de la Peyre, etc. Noblesse militaire, où paraît René de Quinart alias du Fau, écuyer de l'écurie du Roi en 1485. Joseph-Gabriel du Fau, écuyer, seigneur de la Payre et de Champagnac, transige le 7 juillet 1716 avec le baron de Thoras et de la Clause.
