Cette noble maison est du rameau des premiers seigneurs Dufaure, originaire du Bas-Limousin où elle est très anciennement connue. Elle compte parmi ses membres les seigneurs de Meysonnette, du Chataigner, etc. Pierre Fabri du lieu de Dunières, transige en 1491 avec Jehan son frère, tige des marquis de Satillieu et de St-Sylvestre, au sujet du règlement de la succession de Nycolas Fabri, leur père. Il vivait encore en 1514. Jehan Fabri est cité dans divers actes de 1533 à 1543; Claude et Nycolas Dufaure vivaient en 1588. Christophe, seigneur de Citres, fit inscrire en 1696 ses armoires dans d'Hozier. PAr suite de charges notariales et de judicature, les Dufaure de Citres dérogèrent et passèrent dans l'ordre de la bourgeoisie. Ils furent rétablis dans chaussée du Puy. La distinction familiale représentée ici sous forme de blason, survit à travers les siècles grâce à des précieux témoignages qui nous ont permis de rapporter les exploits et les gestes de cette noble famille. ...
