Dai fuochi della città di Bari dell'anno 1595, che si conservano nel Regio Archivio di Stato in Napoli, si rileva questa famiglia essere originaria di Maiuri della costiera di Amalfi, e portata in Bari intorno all'anno suddetto. La famiglia Ferrigo divenuta erede del nome e delle sostanze della famiglia Pisone, originaria di Costantinopoli e passata in Bari al tempo che tale città venne in potere dei Musulmani, fu aggregata alla Piazza dei Nobili con deliberazione del 26 maggio 1789 e Sovrano Assenso alla stessa impartito, in data 6 febbraio 1795. Ed alla generale abolizione dei Sedili di Nobiltà, venne nel 1805 ascritta al Registro delle Piazze Chiuse, nelle persone dei germani Diego ed Ignazio; e dei figliuoli del primo: Francesco Saverio, Salvatore, Giuseppe, Andrea ed Ignazio.
