L'altra trae invece origine dal casato dei Del Sera, attestato in Firenze a partire dallo squittinio del 1524, con Francesco, di Luca, di Miniato. Nel periodo del principato Cosimo, di Neri, di Luca, depositario generale del granducato Ferdinando II, fu chiamato a far parte del Senato dei Quarantotto nel 1631, come lo fu suo figlio Paolo, nel 1672.
