El linaje de F. es muy antiguo en Barcelona y uno de sus caballeros fué Conseller. Poseyó sepultura en la iglesia de San Francisco y en la capilla de San Luis, del monasterio de San Jerónimo, por haber contribuído en 1211, a la construcción de la última de las iglesias citadas. Desde Cataluña se extendió por todo Aragón. A la mencionada casa de la ciudad de Barcelona perteneció Pedro de F., natural de Barcelona, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Gertrudis de Torres y fueron padres de Carlos de F. y Torres, natural de Barcelona, marido de doña Francisca de Rubí y ambos padres de Juan de F. y Rubí, que nació en Barcelona, donde casó con doña Antonia de Brú, en la que procreó a Juan Antonio de F. y Brú, que sigue, y Diego de F. y Brú, bautizado en la iglesia de San Miguel, de Barcelona, el 1º de Julio de 1763. En 1770 se le concedió el hábito de San Juan en el Gran Priorato de Cataluña. Juan Antonio de F. y Brú fué natural de Barcelona y contrajo matrimonio, en 1784, con doña María Bernardina de Taberner, quinta Condesa de Darnius y Marquesa de Villel, muerta en 1834. En el año de 1806, fué creado este caballero Grande de España, honorario, y en 1819, el Rey don Fernando VII le concedió el título de Duque de Almenara Alta. Fué también Caballero de San Juan y Gentilhombre de Cámara, con ejercicio. Falleció en San Martín de Taya (Barcelona), el 3 de Enero de 1846, dejando este hijo Juan Antonio de F. y Taberner, que fué segundo Duque de Almenara Alta. ...
