Nobility crown GiovanelliE' questo un ramo della celebre casata dei mercanti bergamaschi che ha dominato per secoli il commercio dei panni della Valle di Gandino, nota dal secolo XIII. Arricchitasi coi suddetti commerci fu nei vari rami decorata dal XVI secolo della nobiltà imperiale avendo servito sotto le bandiere dell'imperatore in funzioni militari. Il più illustre ramo fu quello che essendo stato ascritto nel 1668 al, patriziato veneto, aveva anche avuto numerosi feudi, il rango di conti del Sacro Romano Impero e la dignità magnatizia in Ungheria, ove possedeva vasti beni ed infine il titolo di principe dell'impero austriaco. La linea attualmente fiorente a Bolzano ebbe riconoscimento d'armi nel 1564, ebbe concessione della nobiltà imperiale il 1 aprile 1583, il predicato di Gerstburg nel 1590; fu ascritta nella matricola tirolese nel 1618; ebbe nel 1790 il titolo di conte del Sacro Romano Impero e di Baviera. Écartelé, aux 1 et 4, d'or, à l'aigle de sable, celle du 1 contournée, au 2, de gueules, à une barque d'argent, montée par deux jeunes rameurs et voguante sur une mer d'azur, au 3, d'argent, à deux épis d'or, tigés et feuillés de sinople, posés sur une terrasse du même (Gerstl). Casque couronné. Cimier: un jeune homme issant, couronné d'or, habillé de gueules, tenant un sceptre d'or, et placé entre un vol coupé, à dextre d'or sur sable, à senestre de gueules sur argent. Lambrequin: d'argent et de gueules.

Sur le tout d'or à l'aigle de sable. Trois casques couronnés. Cimiers: 1° l'un des rameurs, issant, supportant de sa main senestre une ancre renversée de sable et tenant dans son bras dextre une colonne de gueules, le chapiteau d'or. Lambrequin: d'argent et de gueules; 2° un chevalier, issant, le casque panaché de sable, de gueules et d'or. Lambrequin: d'or et de sable; 3° un vol à l'antique d'azur, ch. d'une fasce d'or, le vol ch. de six fleurs-de-lys, 3, 2 et 1, de l'un à l'autre. Lambrequin: d'argent et d'azur. Devise: FIDES IN CALAMITATIBVS CLARA.
